Words wrung from the depths
Expeditious writing
But late yet again

Thanks to Linda’s SoCS challenge to use “xp” It brought me to the lovely and intimidating word (which rarely applies to my writing): expeditious.

But late yet again

Fading in the light
Lip stains on a broken glass
Elicit the night

This was written for Linda’s SoCS Challenge to use “lip” in some form. Check out her page for some creative and fun contributions!
Once, fame had been his drug. Now, those covers were nothing but an anathema. A reminder of his age. All he wanted was peace. But they always found him. Somehow. He took a deep breath. Tossed his hair. Smiled. Maybe just one photo he thought as the giggling middle-aged women approached.

Late to the game for the “anathema” 52 word challenge, but thanks to Sammis Scribbles for an excuse to use it in a story and to Linda’s SoCS Challenge for a reason to write about FABIO!
I
aimless and sleepy
you idle the day away
gathering wool thoughts
II
wool-gathering thoughts
to spin daydreams for blankets
indulging your mind
III
to indulge your mind
and gather woolly respite
will sustain your soul
This 36 word ode to the awesomeness of idle thought is inspired by Sammi’s weekend challenge to share our thoughts on wool-gathering in exactly 36 words and Linda’s SoCS challenge.
And of course no ode to day dreaming would be complete without a shout-out to my favorite day dream believers.

Favorite Doctor?
WINNER!

Linda’s JusJuJan SoCS Challenge to write about television made me think of my favorite show (Doctor Who) and then Sammi’s SoCS Challenge to write exactly 40 words including the word “furrowed” made me think of Peter Capaldi (of course!) And although the Tenth Doctor (David Tennent) will always be MY Doctor, Capaldi and his furrowed brows comes in as a close second. (I also love Jodi as the Doctor so she may be moving into the second place slot. We’ll see!)
