Something broke that day
Another world beckoned her
No going back now

In my mind, this is a quasi-companion piece to yesterday’s Friday Fictioner’s piece. But interpret it as you like.
Writer. Feminist. Historian. Person.
Something broke that day
Another world beckoned her
No going back now

In my mind, this is a quasi-companion piece to yesterday’s Friday Fictioner’s piece. But interpret it as you like.
elated i lay
under a star near the sea
as hate drifts away

Channeling hopeful thoughts. Thanks to Ronovan Writes and Putting My Feet in the Dirt for their inspiration.
As part of Fandango’s Flashback Friday, I’m posting this haiku from 2/21/2019 inspired by Sue’s Write Photo challenge (photo below).
Resolute they wait
Imprisoned in time and space
Anticipating
Today, I’m a little less hopeful, thus an updated reflection …
time’s transformation
quiets anticipation
as it erodes hope

in the stillness, light
pushing against the darkness
a promise laid bare

Thanks to Sue and her #writephoto challenge and photo.
I’ve been struggling with … a lot these past few weeks. And as I try to dig myself out of my funk, writing this reminded me that I’ll be OK. The light will return if I let it in. (I hope.)
The world spins around
Bringing a spark of new hope
As fuel for the flames

I’ve been WP MIA for a couple of weeks. Between the heat and the constant rain and the general state of our world, I’ve been uninspired or depressed or lethargic. “Whatever” has been my go-to feeling of late. Ugh. But I’m trying to lift myself out of it. So thanks to Sue’s beautiful photo challenge for giving me a hopeful image to go along with the spark of hope coming out of Puerto Rico.
I’ll leave you with my title inspiration-Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come.”
Peace.
