Haiku & Other Poetry, tutto e niente

the agonies of change

days became decades

forged in fire but still easy

our love endures all

Reena’s 400th Prompt asks us to play a game. Visit the site of An Almanac of Birds: 100 Divinations

Click on any one of the 12 pictures. Read the divination and write whatever comes to mind.

I landed on the card above. We’ve been together for 42 years, so this one really resonated. Visit Reena’s page to read more.

Haiku & Other Poetry, tutto e niente

Tanka Tuesday-Each Day

as gold turns to ash

the barren branches quiver

but the green may wane

as spring can bring a swift frost

and each day may be our last

Haiku & Other Poetry, tutto e niente

SenHai-Saturday (the moon and my mind)

the moon turns its face

and the sea mourns salty tears

as summer burns hot

harmonic breaking

turmoil as a design flaw

my chaotic mind

Thanks to Susi for the great prompt to create one senryu and one haiku to accompany the image (above). As a remember, a traditional haiku describes nature or a season, while a senryu focuses on human nature and emotions.
