Just a girl they say
Just one more pop wanna be
Just watch me she says

This haiku was inspired by this wonderful piece of art by Vincent Giarrano provided courtesy of the photo challenge at Mind Love Misery Menagerie and by the train of thought inspired the word of the day (daredevil) courtesy of Tales from the Mind of Kristian.

engines went silent
the time to fly was over
mother nature won
I loved the peaceful feel of this photo by David Kovalenko but it also made me think of the orange one and his minion’s hysterical (and completely untrue) claim (let’s call it what it is—a lie) that the Green New Deal would abolish flying. This weird little haiku came out of that head space.
Thanks Susi. Read more and see the details for the haiku challenge at I Write Her.
thunder rocks n rolls
to the beat of pounding rain
spring debuts its band

This haiku was inspired by the rainy Florida days that harken the end of our beautiful winter weather. Colleen’s choose your own words Tanka Tuesday Challenge and this beautiful photo (courtesy of Helene’s What Do You See Challenge) complemented my thoughts perfectly. Thanks!
trick or treat, she said
a silly game to pass time
but the trick felt real

It’s Tanka Tuesday Synonyms only day!
And today’s words (which we can’t use) are PLAY and HOBBY. I tried to adhere to the idea in both words (trick or treat, game, pass time) and in theme (her hobby was to play with people). Thanks Colleen. Not sure the theme fits in the traditional rules but t’was fun!
