Wool-Gathering in Three Parts or an Affirmation on Day Dreaming

I

aimless and sleepy
you idle the day away
gathering wool thoughts

II

wool-gathering thoughts
to spin daydreams for blankets
indulging your mind

III

to indulge your mind
and gather woolly respite
will sustain your soul

This 36 word ode to the awesomeness of idle thought is inspired by Sammi’s weekend challenge to share our thoughts on wool-gathering in exactly 36 words and Linda’s SoCS challenge.

And of course no ode to day dreaming would be complete without a shout-out to my favorite day dream believers.

The Tipi

Looky there! Do ya think someone’s sleeping in that wigwam thing?

It’s not a wigwam. It’s a tipi.

Tee Pee. Wig Wam. Pig Sty. Whatever.

Don’t whatever me. They’re not the same thing. Wigwams are curved. And they’re hard to move.

Who cares!

I do! People are too casual with facts these days. There’s no excuse for it.

Damn it Luke. It’s getting late. We need someplace to hole up. Not another Trump tirade. Let’s do this!

Alright! Let’s move…. But I’m right.

Whatever. … Sorry folks. We’re gonna need to commandeer this here wig wam.

Asshole.

PHOTO PROMPT © Renee Heath

Life’s been a bit crazed lately so it’s been awhile since I’ve written any flash fiction or contributed to Friday Fictioneers. So thanks to Rochelle for providing the great photo prompt and Haunted Wordsmith for the word prompt inspirations.

Bearing Witness to the Folly of Man

Thanks for the inspiration to Linda and her JusJoJan challenges!

And to No Facilities for the word prompt. I took some liberties and used “testify” as an idea (bearing witness) not the actual word.

Thanks also to Ronovan Writes for the words magic and man, which I morphed in to “we” (based on the assumption that man = human = we) because it sounded / felt like the right word.

Today’s Just Jot January prompt of BALANCE courtesy of JP at Wide Eye Wondering is remarkably timely! I am in the midst of buying/selling/moving … and my stress level has been super high. Just seeing the word made me stop and think. Today I shall let go of some of that stress! I do NOT need to be in control of everything!

Today’s assignment: Go to yoga. Be thankful. And breathe.
