as indigo shadows fall
rising, she stands guard

I think the current craziness of my life is reflected in the direction (away from tranquil!) this haiku traveled! But much thanks to Sue for the photo prompt. It felt good to write a bit of something! ❤

drops float in the air
a prism of light and color
held in a moment
before they swim to the earth
bathing the colors of spring

It was so white. How could that be? Her eyes searched the bed for telltale signs beyond the humps and wrinkles. But she could find nothing. The more she stared, the hazier it all became. Whitewashing her memory till she was convinced. It was just a dream. Not a terrible mistake.
