letting go today
falling into the unknown
and finding balance

Today’s Just Jot January prompt of BALANCE courtesy of JP at Wide Eye Wondering is remarkably timely! I am in the midst of buying/selling/moving … and my stress level has been super high. Just seeing the word made me stop and think. Today I shall let go of some of that stress! I do NOT need to be in control of everything!
Today’s assignment: Go to yoga. Be thankful. And breathe.
Favorite Doctor?
WINNER!

Linda’s JusJuJan SoCS Challenge to write about television made me think of my favorite show (Doctor Who) and then Sammi’s SoCS Challenge to write exactly 40 words including the word “furrowed” made me think of Peter Capaldi (of course!) And although the Tenth Doctor (David Tennent) will always be MY Doctor, Capaldi and his furrowed brows comes in as a close second. (I also love Jodi as the Doctor so she may be moving into the second place slot. We’ll see!)

This week! I yi yi! No wonder today’s Just Jot January prompt reminded me of this commercial from my childhood for the
Inch Worm Toy
Granted I was probably out of the target age but I had the same reaction then as I do now.
You’re getting nowhere on that ridiculous thing. Get off that stupid worm and run! Or walk. Or skip. Or even jump up and down. You’d make just as much progress but at least you wouldn’t be breaking that dumb worm’s back.
An overreaction? Yes. But this week.
I yi yi!
I won’t bore y’all with details. But I feel like I’m stuck on that damn worm. Striding with all my might. Getting nowhere.
I know I will eventually move.
Maybe forward.
Maybe backwards.
But at least I’ll be moving.
Meanwhile my notorious tendency to be inpatient is reeking havoc on my mind and body.
Time to remind myself: “this too shall pass.”
Venting session complete.
Thanks for listening 😬
Written for Linda G. Hill’s Just Jot It January prompt. Today’s prompt, “inch,” was suggested by John Holden at The Sound of One Hand Typing.

Dreaming of the past
When lanterns blazed the night sky
And stars sparkled bright
Illuming a boundless hope
For tomorrow’s future

In the midst of all the terrible awful horrible things happening in the good ol’ USA, I have been feeling a bit hopeless. I’ve also been thinking (dreaming) of traveling (escaping). Sadly my budget no longer supports much in the way of travel abroad but Linda’s Just Jot January prompt (Paris), courtesy of Forty and Fantastique fit my mood perfectly. And THEN I saw Helene’s What Do You See photo prompt and it all came together.
So thanks to all. GO! Visit their sites for some great writing and the rules to the games.
