engines went silent
the time to fly was over
mother nature won
I loved the peaceful feel of this photo by David Kovalenko but it also made me think of the orange one and his minion’s hysterical (and completely untrue) claim (let’s call it what it is—a lie) that the Green New Deal would abolish flying. This weird little haiku came out of that head space.

No one saw them come. They just appeared overnight. Cages. Thousands of them, millions probably. Everywhere. We stared. Pointed. Hypothesized. Made bets on what had been inside, where they had run off to. Nobody guessed the cages weren’t really empty. Until it was too late.
