Co-work or co-opt?
Feathers spread like a peacock
Mansplaining his theft

Thanks to Linda and her SoCS challenge.
T’was fun.

whispering, we cross
a falsely drawn line
twisting tales of old

Thanks for the inspiration to Ronovan Writes. Our challenge: create a haiku using the words twisted and cross. I think of this haiku as my short ode to my favorite worst treaty–the Treaty of Guadalupe Hildalgo.
“no human is illegal”

Wow. The line is out the door. I guess dying young will do that. Everyone you know is still alive.
At least it’s not raining.
Finally. Through the door! Damn. It’s like the line for Space Mountain. At least there’s music. Hmmm? What’s that song?
What a Wonderful Life.
That’s perfect. I love this song.
Wait. Are they playing it again?
🎵 I see trees of green
… 🎶
Again?!
🎵
AGAIN!
🎵
I HATE THIS SONG.
🎶 red roses too 🎵
Finally.
“I am sorry for your loss.”
Done!
Sweet Silence.
…
Hummm … 🎶 “what a wonderful world” 🎵
NO!!!

This 102 word FF about a song was written for Sammi’s Challenge. Click here for details and more writing.
It’s loosely based on an actual visitation experience.
PSA for today: DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!
soft pink and luscious
as plump as two baby pigs
home from the market

Thanks for the inspiration! Today’s challenge words are luscious and plump. Check out Ronovan Writes Haiku Challenge for details.
Enflamed and engorged
My heart beats a bloody red
Echoing desires
For the delights of lost nights
Or the release of found days
This Tanka was inspired by two separate challenges. First, I love the phrase “echoing desires,” which was our challenge phrase from Putting My Feet in the Dirt. Secondly, Reena’s challenge to think about perspective got me thinking about the complicated idea of desire. Desire is very much a two- (or more) sided emotion. Individually, desire can lead to ecstasy but it also can leave us searching for an escape. As a collective, one person’s delight can be another person’s nightmare. In some ways, it’s all about perspective. So, those thoughts translated as this piece. Hope you like it (or not) … cause that really is about your perspective 😉
