like sheep

Like sheep we follow

Ignoring the other’s cries

Till they come for us

Nurnberg27

After this past week, I fear (even more than I did before) for the survival of our democracy. When we allow the president to act outside the law, how can we claim to be a nation of laws. When we actively persecute people who are not “appropriately” straight, adequately white, and the “right” kind of Christian, then how can we claim to be exceptional? When we support (or ignore) an administration that consistently places profit over the health and safety of humanity and they very survival of our planet, how can we claim “greatness.”

I fear.

Thanks to  Ronovan Writes for the venue to vent. Our words this week are “sheep” and “weep” for which I substituted ‘cries.’

broken heart

my imprisoned heart

consecrated by your love

once whole, now broken

main-image

This broken shard of pottery embellished with (what looks to me like) hearts immediately brought to mind the end of something—love or perhaps even obsession. All things end. Sometimes that’s not a bad thing. And sometimes it is. Take your pick.

Thanks to Teresa for returning to us! And for your new Daily Prompts.

Choices

Sweet or salty?

I choose both.

sweet-or-salty

Sometimes the simplest choices have profound meaning.

Inspiration thanks to Linda’s SoCs word prompt “choices” and to Soul Searcher’s challenge to tell a story in six words using the prompt “sugar.”

Then Chaos

I originally wrote this way back in June of 2018 but it still (sadly) fits my mood AND although it may be bending the rules a bit to use an old piece, it (more happily) perfectly fits Linda’s final JusJoJan prompt “chaos”.

Thanks Linda. Sorry I wasn’t more present in January but … well you know. CHAOS.
