I
high above the sea
the sun bright upon his back
the fight has been won
II
the bright sea beneath
one moment of blissful joy
still, the fight is done

Thanks to Ronovan Writes for the inspiration (bright & fight) for this fishy tale.

I’ve been taking a sculpture class (read more about that at Great Cheeks! ) and before the world collapsed and it got canceled I managed to get my first piece fired. I brought it home and on Friday I “bronzed” it (using acrylic paints ) as part of our first pandemic-sponsored-at-home-art-day.

Thanks to Colleen and Sally for this week’s Tanka Tuesday theme: the night sky. Check it out!

Social distancing fever? Perhaps. Sorry Will!
Thanks to Ronovan Writes! This week we were tasked with using ‘play’ and ‘bay’ in a haiku. T’was fun!

to greet a new age with love
and live life once more

In keeping with Linda’s SoCS’s dictate to do minimal editing, I wrote this 16 word (17 syllable) haiku on the fly but I think it captures the essence of my (our?) world right now. Peace. And thanks to Sammi for the added challenge and inspiration!
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL POETRY DAY!
