Sometimes the muse strikes hard! Thanks to Sadje’s WDYS Challengefor the beautiful photo. That smile!!! She immediately struck a very specific chord in my mind and heart and to Ronovan Writes Haiku Challenge for (unwittingly?) providing the perfect words (dust / weed).
Morning calms the ire
Still, the harbinger proclaims
A storm is coming

somewhere far from now
we’ll wake to dance again
blissfully alive
Day Two: Once again, choosing to look for hope in the midst of everything. We’ll see how long this lasts!

dawn shines her first light
and Monday’s child, fair of face,
casts her eyes downward
Obviously my little haiku owes a thanks to the unknown writer of this 19th century children’s poem:
Monday’s child is fair of face
Tuesday’s child is full of grace
Wednesday’s child is full of woe
Thursday’s child has far to go,
Friday’s child is loving and giving,
Saturday’s child works hard for a living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.
It was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw Fandango’s Monday prompt. Or maybe the second or third. I also thought of the songs “I Don’t Like Mondays” and “Monday, Monday” but I was trying to avoid super depressing stuff. Plus, the adorable monkey photo cinched the deal. I LOVE monkeys. They ARE “fair of face.”
So happy Monday to all. Find a bit of joy today if you can. And thanks also to What Do You See challenge for the wonderful monkey photo and to Ronovan’s Haiku challenge words (eyes and light).
