Haiku & Other Poetry, tutto e niente

the dawn of a new day

orange turns to blue

life glimmering in the deep

nascent with the dawn

we begin again

the sun shines on a new day

hopeful and alive

Thanks to Susi and David for beautiful SenHai photo prompt. BTW-I LOVE Croatia. It’s one of my favorite places. And thank you to the weekly colour challenge prompt of ORANGE. It was and unexpectedly perfect inspiration.

Haiku & Other Poetry, tutto e niente

if I could be me

If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be, and why?

if I could be me

but wiser, softer, kinder

quiescent no more

the arrogance of youth shed

my chrysalis cracked open

This was inspired by Jetpack’s question of the day and by Susi’s post from today entitled Insulating. Thanks Susi!

Haiku & Other Poetry, tutto e niente

welcome to the new age

we muddle through it

to greet a new age with love

and live life once more

In keeping with Linda’s SoCS’s dictate to do minimal editing, I wrote this 16 word (17 syllable) haiku on the fly but I think it captures the essence of my (our?) world right now. Peace. And thanks to Sammi for the added challenge and inspiration!

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL POETRY DAY!
