ripples stir the calm
as indigo shadows fall
rising, she stands guard

I think the current craziness of my life is reflected in the direction (away from tranquil!) this haiku traveled! But much thanks to Sue for the photo prompt. It felt good to write a bit of something! ❤

I’ve been MIA the past few days, so thanks to Sue’s Photo Prompt for welcoming me back.
Unbidden flurry

This is dedicated to my northern family and friends enduring their second (or is it their third?) early snowfall of the year. Florida has its faults (and boy this summer was HOT and LONG) but aaaaahh the winters are SWEET.

Bike/Skyway Bridge photo courtesy of author’s awesome spouse.
Thanks to the following for the inspiration for this haiku. Visit their sites for info on the prompts and for some great writing.
Sue’s snow photo prompt and Putting my Feet in the Dirt’s word prompt (fractured and formless) and Heeding Haiku for asking me to think about seasons and Autumn’s end.
to discover words
opens your mind to wonder
and your heart to love

Thanks to The Haunted Wordsmith and Sue Vincent for the great photo prompts. In the midst of the chaos of … well everything, both of these picture reminded me of the sweet calm of my “happy place”–reading. Books really were my first love. The library (and all the wonderful librarians I have known in my life) will always hold a special place in my heart and mind.
