Haiku & Other Poetry, tutto e niente

looking for love & harmony

to spark devotion

and banish cacophony

the birds joined their calls

and sang a sweet melody

in unity with the trees

Thanks to Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday Synonyms Only Challenge

Our words for today are “love” and “harmony” and my synonyms are “devotion” and “unity.” ‘Twas fun but hard!

Haiku & Other Poetry, tutto e niente

broken heart

my imprisoned heart

consecrated by your love

once whole, now broken

main-image

This broken shard of pottery embellished with (what looks to me like) hearts immediately brought to mind the end of something—love or perhaps even obsession. All things end. Sometimes that’s not a bad thing. And sometimes it is. Take your pick.

Thanks to Teresa for returning to us! And for your new Daily Prompts.

Haiku & Other Poetry, tutto e niente

he waits

in silence he waits

his heart captured by her love

faithful till the end

It wasn’t my intention to double up prompts for this challenge but both images conjured similar feelings for me. As if they are two warriors on opposite sides of a battle, patiently waiting for that moment when they’re released from their assigned posts. Hoping, against all hope, that love will be there to welcome them back.

So thanks to Sadje for keeping the What do you see? challenge alive. And thanks to Sue for the always fabulous Write Photo Challenge.
