Sharing My World

It’s been awhile so I thought I’d start back easy, thanks to Di’s Share Your World Challenge over at pensitivity 101.

Here are this week’s questions:

How do you like your coffee/tea?

  • Tea. Ughh!!! Much like Ted Lasso, I find it disgusting. Hot, cold, sweet, milky, lemony—it doesn’t matter. Yuck.

  • Coffee. Immediately every morning. Always hot with just a splash of real cream or half and half. NEVER NEVER SUGAR!!!

Are you a dunker (of biscuits/cookies)?

  • Absolutely NOT. If a cookie (or biscuit for my-non USAers) is meant to be soggy then it should come that way. And if we’re talking American biscuits, if they are made right then they don’t need dunked. They are already soft and buttery doughlishishness.

What is your favourite biscuit/cookie?

  • Soft sugar cookies. Mmmm. Or hot chocolate chip cookies. YUM. Or oatmeal chocolate chip … Can’t lie. I love almost all cookies. Except if you stick raisins in them. Which is wrong on every level.

Have you ever baked your own biscuits/cookies?

  • Does slice and bake count? Just kidding. I have baked American biscuits and cookies from scratch. Not often but enough to know, I’m no baker.

In honor of NaPoWriMo, this haiku is an ode to one of life’s small pleasures. For me it’s making our morning coffee. I love the whole process from grinding the beans to pushing the plunger on our French press. It’s an art and a science that never quite produces the same taste.

And as it sometimes happens, Linda’s SoCS prompt of “practice”was a perfect splash of milk to complete my thoughts. Thanks!

A Desire So Elusive

Fifty-nine Brings Joy

So we begin this years Just Jot January. Thanks Linda!

Our prompt for JusJoJan January 2nd, 2020, is “a picture you’ve taken in the last week.” If you don’t want to share the photo itself, talk about it. If you haven’t taken any photos, talk about a moment you wish you had. Have fun!

Full disclosure: The photo of the temperature (in Fahrenheit) was taken by my hubby–braving the freezing cold! The coffee / blanket pic is a selfie documenting my blissful enjoyment of hot coffee and the need for a blanket! And for those of you who may be worried about the potential for frostbite, no need. It’s currently 79 degrees (feels like 82). Winter’s a rare beast here in the south lands. I don’t miss the frigid wind chills or snow of Illinois but I do love the occasional brisk day! Hopefully we’ll get a few more 🙂
