elated i lay
under a star near the sea
as hate drifts away

Channeling hopeful thoughts. Thanks to Ronovan Writes and Putting My Feet in the Dirt for their inspiration.

reverie broken
memories wet on my cheek
a dream in a tear

Thanks to Putting My Feet in the Dirt and to Fandango for two great ideas that worked perfectly together.
Check out their sites for great writing and the rules of the game.
As part of Fandango’s Flashback Friday, I’m posting this haiku from 2/21/2019 inspired by Sue’s Write Photo challenge (photo below).
Resolute they wait
Imprisoned in time and space
Anticipating
Today, I’m a little less hopeful, thus an updated reflection …
time’s transformation
quiets anticipation
as it erodes hope

dreaming a new day
the sun rises over still life
awakening spring

Thanks to Sue for a beautifully calm photo. It lifted my spirits. Check her out for more great offerings and the rules of the game.
