Haiku & Other Poetry, tutto e niente

at fifty (MLMM Monday Wordle)

at fifty, I believed a precious chapter had begun

I lit sparklers and filled my cup

toasting

my voice ringing clear and loud

but by sixty

the message felt muted

too many tick tocks watched

my hope wiped by ceaseless drama

by seventy I hope

my cup will fill once more

toasting

a new chapter begun again

Today’s Monday Wordle asked us to use the following words: chapter, clear, cup, drama, felt, fifty, message, muted, precious, sparkler, watched, & wiped.

Not sure what I’ve created here. Free verse? Sad screed?
