“If only there were more.”
“More what Aunt Karen?”
Glaring out the window, she pressed record before declaring “More people like me. Patriotic citizens. People who care about what’s happening to this country.”
“He’s just cleaning the windows. Why are you recording him?” I hadn’t seen her in years but I steeled myself for the nonsense that I imagined was about to come out of her mouth.
“I’m not. I’m recording that women hassling him. Now be a good boy and open the window so I can tell her to go to hell before I post this.”
Thanks to Putting My Feet in the Dirt for a great opening line (if only there were more) and to Rochelle’s Friday Fictioners for the photo inspiration.
“We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.” – Mahatma Gandhi
BE A GOOD KAREN NOT A BAD KAREN!
Good to see someone take affirmative action – although I despair at a world where posting a shaming video on social media is the only way to get through to people!

I’d like to think people can learn to be better humans but then … I keep meeting the people 😉

Everything is recorded these days but it doesn’t seem to curb behaviour. I am starting to believe there are a lot of morons in the world and the numbers keep increasing.

I. must have missed something. Not surprising. I’ve been ignoring a lot of news lately. Who is Karen? Was she a good girl or a bad girl? Hey, never mind. I’ll google it 🙂

“Karen” is a generic name for a white woman acting victimized because she’s been inconvenienced …. At its most benign she’s demanding to see a manager because she’s not getting the special treatment she thinks she deserves. At its worst she’s calling the cops on a POC for being in the “wrong” place.

And now that I’ve read all about it, I’m feeling sorry for my friend named Karen. She’s a nice lady, not a bigot, would never be petty and whiny. Poor dear. Maybe she should change her name to Gertrude or something that isn’t popular right now.

Yep. It’s not a great time to be a Karen. I love the name Gertrude! So many great nicknames can be pulled from it. 😄

I want to know what the nasty window-cleaner is up to that deserves being hassled.
There are three sides to a story!

My bad! I didn’t even think about the window cleaner’s story. What WAS he up to? Mmmmmm. Interesting. Maybe bad Karen was really a good Karen 😉
